Indonesia to boost shrimp production in 2013 by 30%

Slamet Soebjakto, Director General of Indonesia's Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, stated that the country will aim to boost its domestic shrimp production in 2013 by 30% over the previous year to 457,600 tons, according to the Indonesian newspaper Bisnis.

Japanese imports fall 9%

On 29th of May 2013, preliminary decision on countervailing made by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) was published on Federal Register concluded that Vietnam exported shrimp was subsidized by its government. As results, Vietnam shrimp exporters are subjected to high countervailing duty.
