Dong Thap: Fishery production to reach 5,554 billion VND in H1.2024

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Dong Thap Sub - Department of Livestock, Veterinary, and Fisheries, in the first six months of the year, the estimated production value of the seafood industry reached 5,554 billion VND, up 3.22% over the same period, equal to 101,000 VND and 98% of the 6-month plan. Of which, the production value of pangasius reached 3,586 billion VND, shrimp reached 97.2 billion VND, and other seafood reached more than 1,410 billion VND.

Ca Mau pours VND 20 trillion into shrimp industry boom

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the newly approved shrimp industry development plan for Ca Mau province, by 2030, the total investment capital for shrimp development will be around VND 20,000 billion. Ca Mau will have two 190-hectare seafood complexes in Nam Can district and a 178-hectare complex in Dam Doi district.

Ca Mau Province: Fishery output in April 2023 increased by 5.18%

Of which, shrimp output was 21,850 tons, an increase of 8.58% over the same period. Cumulatively, in the first 4 months of 2023, total fishery output was estimated to reach 211,845 tons, up 3.83% over the same period, of which 81,000 tons were shrimp, an increase of 4.61% over the same period.

Tuna export value this month reached nearly 87 million USD, an increase of 29%. Accumulated in the first 4 months of 2024, export turnover of tuna reached nearly 302 million USD, an increase of 22%.

In April 2024, the US sharply increased imports of Vietnam value-added pangasius
