Phu Yen: Sharp increase in tuna catch

(vasep.com.vn) Since the early July 2014, tuna catch by fishermen in Phu Yen province reported a sharp increase, bringing the revenue of VND200-400 million for each fishing trip, according to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Bac Lieu: 144,341 MT of fish production in Jan-June

(vasep.com.vn) In the first 5 months of 2014, aquaculture production in Tra Vinh province reached over 28,038 MT, up nearly 39 percent year on year in which shrimp output hit nearly 8,000 MT.

A 31-percent rise in Vietnamese seafood exports through April

(vasep.com.vn) In the first 4 months of 2014, Vietnamese seafood exports kept the growth trend recorded in 2013 with stable supply of raw shrimp and positive growth in shrimp sales to all foreign markets. Through April 2014, seafood exports had a worth of US$2.3 billion, up 31 percent year on year. Sales of pangasius products reported a slight rise. Cephalopod and other marine products were also recovering. Only tuna still got deep fall in exports.

Farming sea cucumber and prawn - effective and sustainable
