Australia – a potential market for Vietnam shrimp

(vasep.com.vn) Over the years, Australia has been in the top 10 leading import markets of Vietnam shrimp. During last 5 years, Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the market kept a positive growth. In 2013, Vietnam shrimp sales to Australia reached over US$128 million, up 27.5 percent compared to 2012, ranking the 6th biggest importer of Vietnam shrimp after the U.S., Japan, EU, China and South Korea.

Higher pangasius price in the U.S. market

(pangasius-vietnam.com) Through March 15th 2014, Vietnamese pangasius exports to the U.S. had a worth of US$73.1 million, up 17.4 percent year on year, according to Vietnam Customs. The U.S. remained Vietnam's largest pangasius importer with a proportion of 21.4 percent in total sales abroad.
