Khanh Hoa increases whiteleg shrimp farming in 2014

(vasep.com.vn) In 2013, Khanh Hoa province, a large shrimp farming area of Vietnam, stocked 1,800 hectares of whiteleg shrimp with harvest production of 29,500 MT, 95 percent of which was processed to export. Shrimp exports by the province became a main impetus to raise the locality's seafood export turnover.

Japanese seafood exports jump 25% in 2013

Japanese marine product imports, including fishmeal, for 2013, amounted to 2,472,959 metric tons, down 8.3 percent from 2012, according to preliminary trade statistics by the Ministry of Finance.

ASC’s first audit of pangasius farm in Vietnam

China stays world’s top seafood exporter

China’s seafood exports broke the USD 20 billion (EUR 14.7 billion) mark last year for the first time. Fisheries officials in China will be ecstatic that 2013 export of aquatic products totaled USD 20.26 billion (EUR 14.9 billion), from volume of 3.95 million metric tons (MT) — an increase of 4.15 percent and 6.74 percent respectively.

Seapriexco N04 to earn US$36 million in 2012

(vasep.com.vn) In 2012, Seafood Joint Stock Company N04 (Seapriexco N04) will issue more shares to raise charter capital to VND234.5 billion. The finance source is used to develop the firm’s fish farming areas to 70 hectares and add to its working capital for ensuring the stable supply of raw pangasius for its Dong Tam processing plant.

Pelagic fish exports up in January

In January pelagic fish was exported to the tune of NOK 669 million (USD 108.2 million). This equals an increase of 9 per cent according to figures from theNorwegian Seafood Council.

Chile: Fishmeal and frozen seafood products increase exports

Exports of fishery products and aquaculture in Chile reached a value of USD 4,793.3 million until November 2013. This represents an increase of 15.1 per cent over the same period in 2012, when USD 4,164.9 million were obtained.

Chile: Salmon exports up 21pc
