(seafood.com) The FAO has introduced a new fish price index designed to use trade statistics to measure the value of seafood. A peer reviewed paper by eight authors, including Sigbjørn Tveteras, Frank Asche, Marc F. Bellemare, Martin D. Smith, Atle G. Guttormsen, Audun Lem, Kristin Lien and Stefania Vannuccini published in the Journal PLOS one. describes the index and its results.

(vasep.com.vn) Through October 2013, Bidifisco exported US$29.5 million of seafood products. 60 percent of which was tuna and the rest was other marine fish products. The company’s frozen tuna products were shipped to the U.S. and the EU markets. In which, the EU consumed 70 percent of export volume.

(VNA) The turnover from Vietnamese fisheries exports in May hit 500 million USD, raising the sector’s total export revenue for the first five months of this year to 2.3 billion USD, up by 9.8 percent over the same period last year. The key products are still shrimp, fish and shellfish.

(fis.com) Marine product exports are estimated to have grown by 20 per cent to INR 3.42 billion in the last fiscal on the back of increased shipments to South East Asia, Japan and the US. The country had shipped marine products worth INR 2.85 billion in 2010-11 financial year.
