(IntraFish) The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) has launched a consumer-facing label as the first ASC-certified products are expected to hit the market this year. The label is designed to be "complimentary" to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) label used for wild fish (compare the logos below), the ASC said.

(vasep.com.vn) In the first 8 months of 2013, Vietnam sold its tuna to 90 markets, expanding more 10 markets over 2012. However, tuna exports at that time decreased 4.6 percent from that of the same period of 2012.

(fis.com) Japan's seafood imports increased by nine per cent in February, reaching 175,000 tonnes worth JPY 101 billion (USD 1.24 billion), an increase in the value of 10 per cent. Norwegian mackerel imports increased by 67 per cent compared with February last year.
