(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The first half of 2017, Vietnam's tuna exports to Israel continued to grow at a high level. As a result, Israel currently ranked as the 3rd largest tuna buyer of Vietnam in the period, behind the U.S and the EU. Through June 2017, Vietnam’s tuna sales totaled US$22.7 million, up 167% over the same period in 2016.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam boosts exports of fresh/live/frozen octopus (HS code 030751 and HS code 030759) to South Korea thanks to the tax rate of 0%. In the first half of 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to the market amounted to US$95 million, up 40.5% over the same period last year. South Korea kept as the biggest importer of Vietnam cephalopod, representing 35% of Vietnam cephalopod sales.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) With the continuous high growth in the first 6 months of 2017, the EU remained as the third largest importing market of Vietnam cephalopod, behind South Korea and Japan. Vietnam’s total cephalopod exports to the EU in the first half of the year hit US$51.5 million, up 101.6% over the same period in 2016.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first half of this year, the Netherlands remained as the largest buyer of Vietnam pangasius in the EU, accounting for 2.7% of Vietnam’s total pangasius exports. This is also the largest importer of Vietnam’s value added pangasius.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first half of 2017, Vietnam’s pangasius exports totaled US$836.4 million, down 0.3% from a year before. Exports to main markets such as the U.S and the EU showed the decline, therefore, companies shifted to other big potential markets such as China, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Saudi Arabia. In QII/2017, Vietnam’s pangasius production had stabilized, the price of raw pangasius slowed down after the surge in April 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first half of 2017, Vietnam’s tuna exports totaled US$271 million, up 21% over the same period last year. Exports to main importing markets as well as other countries almost increased from a year before. In particular, shipments of processed/canned tuna witnessed the remarkable increase of 33.7% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics from Vietnam Customs, after declining in January 2017, Vietnam's cephalopod exports had grown steadily for the next five months. Therefore, the exports in the first 6 months of 2017 amounted to US$269 million, an increase of 50% over the same period in 2016.
