Vietnam shrimp has competitive advantage in the EU

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The EU is the largest export market of Vietnamese shrimp, accounting for 24.7 percent of Vietnam’s total shrimp exports. Vietnam’s shrimp exports to this market as of September this year reached 648.4 million USD, up 11 percent over the same period in 2017.

Vietnam’s exports likely to hit 239 billion USD this year

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has forecast that Vietnam’s total export revenue will grow 10-12 percent to hit a record of 239 billion USD for the whole year 2018, much higher than the set target of 214 billion USD.

According to the statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to the U.S in Jun and July 2018 decreased, but thanks to the good growth in the first five months of the year, the total export value in the first 7 months year to this market still increased by 31.8%, reaching more than US$5.5 million.
