According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to South Korea in July 2018 reached nearly US$ 20 million, down 2.8% over July 2017.

On October 18th 2018, the EU and the Republic of Korea have pledged to work closely together to fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing with a joint statement signed by European Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella, and Mr Kim Young-Choon, Minister for Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea. From the beginning of the year, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Russia posted the continuous growth. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Russia hit nearly US$3.2 million, an increase of 334% over the same period in 2017. Vietnam mainly shipped fresh/live/frozen cephalopod to this market. Of that, exports of fresh/live/frozen octopus accounted for more than 88% of Vietnam's cephalopod export value to Russia.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's tuna exports to Russia in the first seven months of this year rose by 57% to see nearly US$8 million. The figure experienced the continuous growth from the beginning of 2018. And currently Russia was put in the top 10 largest importing markets of Vietnamese tuna.

The Vietnamese and Cambodian ministers of agriculture had a meeting in Hanoi on October 12 to discuss ways to promote cooperation in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries between the two countries.
