This output achieved 99.59% of the set target and marked a 4.57% increase compared to the same period last year. The average shrimp yield attained 869 kilograms per hectare per year, representing a 38 kilograms per hectare per year increase compared to 2023. Shrimp export turnover reached USD 1.12 billion, positioning Ca Mau amongst the nation's leading localities in this sector.

This model not only brings high profits to people thanks to businesses committing to purchasing products at prices 10-20% higher than the market price but also aims for sustainable development and environmental friendliness.

Despite facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seafood exports last year were estimated at US$8.58 billion, the same as in 2019. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEp) expects them to increase by 5 per cent to $8.8 billion this year aided by many positive factors.
