Thanh Hoa promotes high-tech shrimp farming
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Thanh Hoa’s shrimp sector is undergoing a strong transformation by accelerating the adoption of high technology, helping to improve productivity, increase profits, and meet market demands. The province currently has about 4,100 hectares of shrimp farming, with output continuing to rise despite stable farming area, mainly due to the shift from traditional methods to intensive and super-intensive farming.

In Tan Tien commune, high-tech shrimp farming models have delivered clear results. For example, one household has invested in a 2-hectare farm with 15 indoor, greenhouse-covered ponds, applying modern techniques and biological products, achieving annual revenue of around VND 10 billion and profits of VND 2 billion. The commune currently has about 400 hectares of shrimp farming, with industrial models generating profits of VND 0.9–1.1 billion per hectare per year, far exceeding traditional methods.
Other coastal localities are also actively transitioning to high-tech shrimp farming, applying solutions such as recirculating water filtration systems, automated feeding, and environmental monitoring. The use of technology not only enhances productivity but also improves product quality, meets VietGAP standards, and creates a foundation for the sustainable development and export expansion of Thanh Hoa’s shrimp industry.
