(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On December 10, 2022 at the celebration of seafood export reaching 10 billion USD in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) announced the list of 30 excellent enterprises in 2022, in which there are 10 pangasius export enterprises.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh - Former Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Honorary President of the Association presented flowers and medals to outstanding exporters.
In 2022, the world market was unstable because of high inflation, Russia-Ukraine conflict, currency fluctuations, affecting global trade, but pangasius enterprises were proactive and flexible, turning challenges into opportunities. Many enterprises took advantage of the demand recovery, increasing in export prices and limited supply of white fish, to increase market share in the US, EU and China and markets with FTA with Vietnam. Therefore, in 2022, it is estimated that pangasius exports will reach over $2.4 billion with a record growth of 70% compared to 2021.
