(IntraFish) The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) has launched a consumer-facing label as the first ASC-certified products are expected to hit the market this year. The label is designed to be "complimentary" to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) label used for wild fish (compare the logos below), the ASC said.

(vasep.com.vn) Representatives from about 40 enterprises of Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) took part in the 2012 European Seafood Exposition (ESE) in Brussels, Belgium, in April 24th to 26th. The biggest annual seafood fair in Europe attracts nearly 1,600 seafood producers, processors and consumers from 70 countries all over the world. Besides seafood products, machines, equipments and services are also presented in ESE.

In the first seven months of 2013, fishery and aquaculture product exports in Chile reached a value of USD 3,059 million. This represents an increase of 8.7 per cent over the same period of 2012, when USD 2,813 million was obtained.
