Thailand warns on Japanese seafood imports

Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday told consumers to avoid some seafood imports from Japan over potential radiation contamination.

The FDA called for consumers to avoid seafood -- small fish in particular -- over the next couple of weeks, according to philstar.com.

The FDA asked retailers and Japanese restaurants to cooperate with the warnings and be more cautious selling foods from Japan.

Thai officials have increased testing on Japanese food imports, and so far have only found low levels of contamination on some sweet potatoes.
