Tra Vinh: Aquatic product output reaches over 101,500 tons

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) From the beginning of 2025 to now, Tra Vinh province's aquatic product output has reached over 101,500 tons, 4,329 tons higher than the same period in 2024.

Mr. Le Tan Thoi, Director of the Fisheries, Surveillance and Marine Affairs Sub‑Department (Tra Vinh Department of Agriculture and Environment) said: “From the beginning of 2025 to now, the aquatic product output in the province has reached 101,511 tons, 4,329 tons higher than the same period in 2024. Of which, the output of aquaculture in fresh, salt and brackish water reached 78,261 tons; the output of aquatic product exploitation reached 23,250 tons.

In addition, from the beginning of 2025, the province has recorded a total of 522.8 million shrimp post-larvae damaged, mainly due to diseases such as white spot syndrome, acute hepatopancreatic necrosis and white feces syndrome. Among these, 68.5 million black tiger shrimp were lost across​​449.76 hectares and 454.31 million white leg shrimp on 793 hectares.

Regarding aquaculture management, Mr. Le Tan Thoi noted that since the beginning of the year, an additional 1,095 households have registered for farming with 2,525 ponds. As of now, the province has a total of 2,328 registered farming households, managing 5,965 ponds with a combined area of 1,232 hectares. These farming activities are mainly concentrated in Tra Vinh City, Duyen Hai Town, Duyen Hai District, and Cau Ngang District.
