Soc Trang: Aquaculture area surges

Reports from People's Committee of Soc Trang reveals that total aquaculture farming area in the province in 2014 was approximately 60,000 hectares, of which brackish water shrimp accounted for over 42,000 hectares.

(vasep.com.vn) On 14th October, National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued document No. 2012 / QLCL-CL1 on seafood export registration to Russia and Eurasian Customs Union.

Huge potential for pangasius exports to Canada

(vasep.com.vn) In Canada, among white fish products, Vietnam's pangasius fillet is the most imported and consumed, followed by haddock and cod. Export price of frozen pangasius fillets from Vietnam increased year on year. According to Vietnam General Customs, yearly accumulated pangasius exports to Canada as of 15th September 2014 was US$ 28.9 million, up 4.5% year on year.

Baseafood: Seafood export value reached US$16 million

(vasep.com.vn) In the first nine months of this year, seafood export turnover of Baria-Vungtau Seafood Processing and Im-Ex Joint Stock Company (Baseafood) reached US$ 16 million, of which Japan accounted for 37% of the total.
