Vietnam pangasius exports up 5.6% in Jan-Feb 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Jan-Feb 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports reached US$237.3 million, up 5.6% compared to the same period last year. The export value to 2 largest markets (the U.S. and the EU) reported a year-on-year increase of 14.7% and 0.4%, respectively; making up 40.5% of total exports.

Fisheries output in Ca Mau hit 91,200 MT in Jan-Feb 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Capture and aquaculture output of Ca Mau province, Vietnam in Feb, 2016 estimated at 46,000 MT, an increase of 1.77% compared to Jan, 2016, and an increase of 9.52% over the same period of 2015. The figure in Jan-Feb, 2016 estimated at 91,200 MT, completing 17.21% of the plan, up 11.22% year on year.

Vietnam capture output hit over 1,340 thousand MT

Ca Mau: Seafood exports were on the rise

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After the slump in 2015, seafood export turnover of Ca Mau province, Vietnam in Jan-Feb 2016 showed the recovery, with the value of US$128.7 million, up 22.7% year on year, completing 10.3% of the 2016 plan. The number of importing markets also reported the increase.

China tends to raise shrimp imports

(vasep.com.vn) In 2014, China’s shrimp exports reached 233 thousand MT, worth by US$2.55 million, down 14% in volume and up 16% in value from those of the previous year. The average export price touched US$10.95/kg, up 16% from 2013. Main consuming markets included Malaysia, Hong Kong, the U.S., Japan and Taiwan.

China - promising market of Vietnam pangasius in 2016?

Rise in capture production in the early 2016

Vietnam cephalopod exports reported the growth in Jan 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in Jan 2016 reached US$38.45 million, up 9.8% year on year. Cephalopod exports in the first month of 2016 posted a positive growth compared to the same period of 2015 and the last months of 2015. Among top 9 largest markets of Vietnam cephalopod, exports to 8 markets showed positive growth, except for China & Hong Kong reporting the slump of 43%.

Vietnam still has opportunities for raising shrimp exports to EU

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s shrimp exports to EU in 2015 achieved US$548.6 million, down 19.7% year on year. The year-on-year decline in shrimp exports to EU in the year was attributable that regional economy faced troubles, consumers tightened spending, EUR devaluated against USD and import shrimp price into the market was requested to cut down by European importers.

Vietnam tuna exports to Italy increased
