Da Nang promotes high-tech shrimp farming
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Da Nang is accelerating the development of high-tech shrimp farming toward intensive production, disease control, and improved efficiency. Many shrimp farms have invested in automated environmental monitoring systems, continuously tracking indicators such as pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and salinity, enabling farmers to promptly adjust pond conditions and reduce disease risks.
Some farms are also applying technical solutions such as automatic bottom siphon systems to remove waste and leftover feed, thereby improving water quality and supporting shrimp growth. In addition, the lined circular pond model combined with Biofloc technology helps reduce feed usage, limit water exchange, achieve survival rates of over 90%, and reach productivity of more than 40 tons per hectare.
According to the city’s agricultural development strategy, super-intensive shrimp farming following a green, circular approach, along with stronger linkages between enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers, will continue to be encouraged to build a sustainable shrimp production chain in the coming years.
