(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Oct 2016, capture output in Binh Thuan province (Viet Nam) amounted to 21,101 MT. The figure in Jan-Oct 2016 estimated at 174,801 MT, up 2.1% compared to the same period last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Mekong Fisheries Joint Stock Company (Mekongfish Co.) announced its gross profit from sales of goods and services in QIII/2016 with VND5.3 billion, down from VND8.9 billion in the same period of 2015. The figure in Jan-Sep 2016 estimated at VND17.5 billion, down from VND24.1 billion in the same period of 2015.

However, due to difficulties in production of raw materials as well as strong competition in most major importing markets, Vietnam’s seafood exports haven’t marked a breakthrough.

Vietnam’s agro-fishery-forestry exports to China hit 26.4 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2016, a rise of 6.3 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Vietnam exported surimi to 33 markets, 6 markets lower compared to the same period of 2015. Top 5 major markets including Japan, South Korea, EU, China and Taiwan accounted for 69% of total exports.
