Poland increased imports chilled and fresh pangasius fillets

(vasep.com.vn) In the first months of this year, frozen catfish fillets imported by Poland mainly came from Vietnam, not from China as before. Pangasius from Vietnam accounted for 94 percent of the total volume of goods imported by the market. The remaining of 6 percent was imported from Denmark and Germany.

(vasep.com.vn) On 17th June 2014, People Committee of Da Nang city issued a decision to establish a fund managed by the Department of Finance to support fishermen in the city.

Hai Phong: Fish production up 7.13 percent in Jan-May 2014

(vasep.com.vn) Through May 2014, Hai Phong province's fish production was estimated to hit 43,746 MT, up 7.13 percent year on year. The figure includes the capture output of 22,705 MT, up 6.52 percent and aquaculture output of 21,041 MT, up 7.79 percent. In the period, seed producers in the locality produced more than 170 million of fish seeds.

New decree creates hardship for pangasius exporters

(vasep.com.vn) According to VASEP, a newly released decree on pangasius export management will create more hardships to pangasius exporters because they must register their export contracts and audit costs with the Vietnam Pangasius Association (VPA).

Japan helps to improve Vietnam tuna quality

(vasep.com.vn) Local authorities in Binh Dinh province in coordination with seafood experts from Japan Kato Hitoshi company guided fishermen in Tam Quan Bac commune, Hoai Nhon district to use Japan's tuna fishing gears to catch tuna. This aims to improve tuna quality and tuna fishing productivity at deep sea.
