Vietnam continously to cooperate with EU in improving seafood quality

For many years EU has been cooperating

 “Ensuring food hygiene and safety for the domestic and international customers is one of the most important issues which Vietnam’ fishery always focus on. For many years, EU has been cooperating with Vietnam in training Vietnamese personnel who are incharge of seafood quality control from ponds to plates” said by Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Luong Le Phuong in the seminar on fish and aquaculture standards by EU. The seminar held in Ho Chi Minh city on 18th September 2007.

With the support from EU, Vietnam enable to conform to international standards and regulations in processing and exporting seafood. In 2006, Vietnam’s seafood exports reached to USD $3.3 billion. Seafood products of Vietnam are exported to 134 international markets.

Chosen as the venue for EU conference to disseminate new content of the law to be applied in the region, Viet Nam seafood has shown its prestige and enthusiasm towards EU.
