(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the Ben Tre Statistics Department, the province’s aquaculture sector has been relatively stable and has experienced growth recently, particularly due to the high efficiency of intensive shrimp farming models.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Ben Tre province's clam industry has achieved a significant milestone with the third MSC certification, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices. This achievement comes at a time of growing global demand for seafood certified by the Marine Stewardship Council.

The Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre has intensively implemented measures to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in anticipation of the fifth working round with the inspection delegation from the European Commission (EC).

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) By 2025, Ben Tre province will have 4,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming (white shrimp, black tiger shrimp) applying high technology; in which, Ba Tri district has 500 ha, Binh Dai district 2,000 ha and Thanh Phu district 1,500 ha.

According to a report by the Ben Tre Fisheries Sub-Department, in May 2021, the province's total aquaculture area is estimated at 2,790 hectares, up 66.6%, the total aquaculture production is estimated at 35,726 tons, an increase of 44 % compared to the same period last year.
