By 2025, Ben Tre will have 4,000 hectares of hi-tech shrimp farming

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) By 2025, Ben Tre province will have 4,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming (white shrimp, black tiger shrimp) applying high technology; in which, Ba Tri district has 500 ha, Binh Dai district 2,000 ha and Thanh Phu district 1,500 ha.

The People's Committee of Ben Tre province has just issued a plan to develop 4,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming with high technology application in the province by 2025, in order to contribute to promoting sustainable development of the fisheries economy in particular and the socio-economy of the  local coastal area in general.
By 2025, the output of high-tech marine shrimp farming in Ben Tre is expected to reach 144,000 tons, with an average growth rate of 41.4%. The shrimp industry's production value reached 1 billion USD, the average growth rate reached 41.4%.

Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam said that the province aims to develop the marine shrimp industry in the direction of industrialization and modernization. At the same time, turn this industry into a large commodity-producing industry with a reasonable production structure, efficiency, quality and high competitiveness. Thereby, creating a breakthrough in the development of the fisheries economy towards stability and sustainability, making an important contribution to the province's GDP growth.
