However, in that context, Vietnam's seafood exports did not plunge too deeply because the pedestal was FTA agreements from 2018 up to now, including the CPTPP and EVFTA agreements.

In which, shrimp exports increased by 6.4% to 2.45 billion USD, pangasius exports reached 993 million USD, up 8.8%, tuna exports grew 12%, cephalopod and other fish exports increased by 4-5 %.

As of the first half of July 2021, the total value of pangasius exports to Brazil reached 35.5 million USD, up 86.8% over the same period last year.

In which, shrimp export value reached 1.31 billion USD, up 11.8%; Pangasius export value reached US$637.8 million, up 14.7% of tuna reaching US$291.5 million, up 21% over the same period in 2020.

Japan is currently Vietnam's second largest single cephalopod export market, accounting for 21%.

Accumulated in the first 4 months of this year, the export of marine products reached more than 1 billion USD, accounting for 42% of the country's total seafood export value and an increase of 13% over the same period in 2020.

In which, CPTPP market sector is still leading, accounting for 34.26% of total shrimp export. Lack of containers and high sea freight to European and US markets and congestion at Chinese import ports due to strict corona virus control regulations have affected Vietnam's shrimp exports in the first 2 months of the year. However, since March, the situation has been more positive, so it is forecasted that shrimp exports in the second quarter of 2021 will flourish again.

(vasep.com.vn) According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, in the first half of March 2021, seafood exports of the whole country reached 326.3 million USD, therefore accumulated seafood exports from the beginning of the year to mid-March 2021 reached 1,327 billion USD. Seafood exports in March is estimated to reach about 640 million USD, up 1.6% over the same period, bringing total seafood export turnover from Vietnam in the first quarter of 2021 to US$1.64 billion, up by 3% over the same period in 2020.

In 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic has reduced the export of some Vietnamese marine products such as frozen tuna and other sea fish, frozen squid and octopus, but brought opportunities for dried and canned and processed seafood because they are suitable for home consumption, have a long shelf life, and can be processed quickly or ready to eat. Therefore, exports of many items such as canned tuna still increased by 19%, dried fish up 22%, dried marine shrimp grew 112%, dried squid added 29%, crabs extended 49%, fish sauce lifted by 24% ... Therefore, the total marine exports remained at 3.2 billion USD, equivalent to 2019.
