More chances for Binh Thuan shrimp exports to the U.S.

(vasep.com.vn) On 21st of September 2013, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that Vietnam shrimp exporters have never been receiving any government subsidy. This is a positive news for shrimp exporters in Binh Thuan province while local shrimp farmers are happy with good yield.

The U.S. was the fourth largest importer of local seafood exporters after the U.K, Germany and Japan. The province’s shrimp exports to the U.S. market reported rapid growth.

Through August 2013, the province’s shrimp exports of the province reached US$11.8 million, in which exports of frozen whiteleg shrimp increased to US$7.956 million, expanding more US$4.18 million than that of the same period of 2012 (US$3.78 million).

Shrimp export turnover of the locality is expected to increase in one or two upcoming months thanks to full swing harvest.
