(seafood.vasep.com.vn) At Van Hung Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, the Khanh Hoa Agricultural Extension Center, in collaboration with the Northern Aquaculture Research Center and the Van Hung Public Service Center, organized a technical training course on the industrial-scale production of disease-free golden pompano (Trachinotus falcatus) seed for local marine fish farmers.

The training is part of the National Agricultural Extension Project, "Developing an Industrial-Scale, Disease-Free Golden Pompano Seed Production Model for Sustainable Marine Aquaculture", which aims to improve seed quality and support the sustainable modernization of Vietnam's marine farming sector.
Participants included representatives of the project implementation units, members of the Community Agricultural Extension Team, and 20 local households interested in expanding marine aquaculture. The training covered the entire seed production process, including broodstock selection and conditioning, artificial fertilization, egg incubation and transportation, larval rearing, nursery techniques for fingerling production, and the transport of juvenile fish to commercial farming operations.
In addition to production techniques, the program focused on biosecurity measures, environmental management, and disease prevention and control throughout the seed production process. Industry experts also addressed practical challenges faced by hatcheries, including mortality during the nursery stage and water quality management under changing weather conditions, while providing appropriate technical solutions.
According to the organizers, mastering disease-free seed production technology will help improve seed quality, reduce production risks for farmers, and establish a solid foundation for the industrial-scale development of golden pompano farming, enabling the sector to better meet both domestic and export market demand.
