Building national trademarks for tra fish and shrimp was the highlight of a conference of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters (VASEP) held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 12.

Vietnam earned some 2.4 billion USD from exporting aquatic products in the first four months of 2018, representing a year-on-year rise of 13 percent.

Capture fishery production is projected to increase by just one percent through the year 2025, due to the fact that most of the world’s marine capture fisheries are fully fished and therefore have no potential for increasing production, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
