(vasep.com.vn) Through November 2013, total fish production was estimated to reach nearly 5.5 million MT, up 2.6 percent year-on-year.
The figure included 2.5 million MT of capture production and 2.9 million MT of aquaculture production, showing year-on-year increase of 2.4 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively.
The fish catch in November was estimated to register 175,000 MT of shrimp, finfish and other marine products. Aquaculture output in the month was estimated to touch 299,000 MT, up 4.5 percent year-on-year.
Total pangasius output through November this year was estimated to record 852,000 MT on the farming area of 5,800 hectares.
Some Mekong Delta provinces reporting high production of pangasius include Ben Tre 148,600 MT and 700 hectares, Can Tho 117,150 MT and 836 hectares and Vinh Long 91,844 MT and 423 hectares.
Ca Mau harvested 97,420 MT of black tiger shrimp and 11,580 MT of vannamei on the stocking areas of 266,650 hectares and 1,800 hectares, respectively.
