Opening new markets for Vietnam's agro-fisheries products
(vasep.com.vn) Some main agro products of Vietnam are seeking new markets such as Argentina, the U.S. and Russia. Accordingly, shipment of these items in the coming time will obtain positive results, according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Vietnam has recently reached the agreements on exporting agro products to Argentina. Besides, MARD is assigning its representatives to the U.S. in order to ease challenges caused by the U.S. Farm Bill on Vietnam pangasius sector. The Ministry is negotiating with Russian partners to resume exports to the market.
China will strengthen monitoring border trade activities with Vietnam, even stop trading agro products at some border gates between two countries. MARD will discuss with Chinese partners to ensure the stability and minimum risks for exports of agro products to the market.
Vietnam's agro product exports (rice, rubber) to China are making up 40 percent of total commodities exports to the market while exports of dragon fruit and cassava to the market account for 80 - 90 percent.
