Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has 8 designated fishing ports to verify origins of caught fisheries products

The recognition that fishing ports have adequate systems to verify the origin of caught fish is the basis for establishing fisheries management measures, which well meet regulations against IUU fishing.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang, Deputy Director of the Fisheries Sub-Department of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, said that up to now, the province has 8 designated fishing ports with sufficient systems to verify the origin of caught seafood.

These 8 fishing ports include 6 fishing ports of type II designated by the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and 2 fishing ports of type III designated by the People's Committee of Vung Tau city and the People's Committee of Con Dao district, which have sufficient systems to verify the origin of caught products.

Type 2 fishing ports include Fishing Ports of Shipping Mechanic Enterprises; Fishing port of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Fishery Logistics Services Joint Stock Company; Cat Lo fishing port; Fishing port of Hung Thai Fishery Logistics Service Enterprise; Tan Phuoc Fishing Port and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Fishing Port Facility 1 and Facility 2. Two class 3 fishing ports are Con Dao-Vung Tau Fishing Port and Ben Dam Fishing Port.
