(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Da Nang City has fully implemented all recommendations from the European Commission (EC) regarding the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, creating an important foundation for the removal of the “yellow card” in the near future.

The city currently manages more than 4,000 fishing vessels through a vessel monitoring system, enabling 24/7 tracking, strict control of fishing activities, and timely handling of violations. 100% of fishing vessels have been identified, registered, and updated in the national fisheries database.
At fishing ports such as Tho Quang, strict controls are in place for vessel entry and exit, catch monitoring, and seafood traceability. These measures are combined with digital technologies to ensure transparency in line with EC requirements.
In addition, Da Nang has implemented various support policies for fishermen, including subsidies for installing monitoring devices, livelihood transition programs, and fleet restructuring, with a total estimated budget of over VND 60 billion.
The city considers the fight against IUU fishing a long-term mission, aiming to develop a modern, sustainable, and responsible fisheries sector.
