The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Mr. Chris Jeffery - Academic Director of British University Vietnam (BUV) and representatives of both parties.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, BUV will cooperate with the Association to improve the quality of human resources through supporting policies, training activities, coaching, seminars, experiences, vocational guidance... In addition, in the coming time, BUV will also coordinate to implement projects, plans on teaching English and short-term courses on skills for member companies of the Association.

The two parties will widen the opportunities to connect with business organizations in the market; the opportunities to discuss and exchange with experts in many fields and create more internship and job opportunities for BUV students.

At the signing ceremony, VASEP Deputy General Secretary – Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam affirmed the importance of the cooperative relationship between VASEP and BUV for mutual development benefits. VASEP currently has 270 member companies. Training and fostering qualifications for officials and employees is one of the activities that VASEP focuses on, in order to build a sustainable organization. The cooperation model between BUV and VASEP will be a suitable solution for officials, employees of the Association and its affiliated companies to learn and improve their working capacity as well as to give their children and employees more chances to study and experience British education at BUV.

Mr. Chris Jeffery - Academic Director, Representative of BUV, said that the partnership with VASEP demonstrated in the Memorandum of Understanding is a part of BUV's commitment to educational cooperation and improving the quality of human resources in Vietnam. English and management skills training programs are designed appropriately and flexibly by BUV to meet the needs of organizations and businesses, which contributes to improving professional qualifications and career development for the staff.

For the children of officials and employees of the Association, BUV implements supporting programs to provide opportunities for studying high-quality British training programs and degrees in a world-class educational environment, which prepares practical skills to meet the needs of the labor market. “BUV gives students a “passport” to access many career development opportunities in Vietnam and other countries around the world,” added Mr. Chris Jeffery.

Also during the visit at BUV, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam and representatives of VASEP visited the study campus with total investment capital of up to 80 million USD for 3 phases. BUV campus at Ecopark is equipped with advanced technology, along with green and natural space, which inspires students to explore, improve their learning and research capacity, and enhance educational effectiveness.

As the first and only international university in Vietnam to grant Bachelor's degrees directly from the University of London and the prestigious Staffordshire University, BUV was and is now building sustainable relationships with units and organizations, with the aim of providing the staff with management training programs, improving their English skills so that they have the opportunity to access the most up-to-date knowledge and pedagogical methods.
