The two parties planned to develop sales of pangasius products in the Ukraine market.

(vasep.com.vn) In the first three quarters of 2012, Dong Thap-based companies exported 130,111 MT of pangasius products and earned US$361.6 million, up 164.4 percent in volume and 10.6 percent in value from January to September 2011, fulfilling 83.94 percent of the target for 2012.

(vasep.com.vn) In the first three quarters of 2012, Can Tho province produced 117,287 MT of fish in the area of 12,427 hectares, down 14% in fish output and down 4% in farming surface from January – September 2011, reported Can Tho’s Sub-Department of Fisheries.

In which, pangasius farming expanse reached 1,457.48 hectares, including 701.49 hectares harvested and other 756 hectares in production. Surface area used for scampi cultivation was 1,206.6 hectares of which 210 hectares are coming into harvest. Superficies for other fish aquaculture reached 3,907 hectares in which 2,026 hectares were harvested and 1,880 hectares were in production.

(Vietnam News Brief) Hung Vuong Group, Vietnam’s leading pangasius fish exporter, has spent VND74 billion ($3.56 million) on buying Viet Dan Seafood Feed Factory from Dong Thap Seafood Import Export and Processing JSC.

Beside this destination, the company sold fish products to some martkets in Asia and South Africa, so less fish sales in the EU did not affected heavily to business of the company.

(pangasius-vietnam.com) To the middle of August 2012, Vietnam has exported US$2.45 million of pangasius products to Indonesia, according to statistic from Vietnam Customs. The fish trade showed positive growth in February, April and June compared to the compatible months of 2011. Particularly, February’s sales to Indonesia reached US$1.3 million, representing the highest growth since the early 2012 and compared to the same time of the previous years. However, no pangasius cargo from Vietnam was sent to Indonesia in May and in the first half of August. Vietnam pangasius trade with this market grew steadily between 2008 and 2010, but has been showing sign of slowdown since 2011.

(vasep.com.vn) In August 23rd 2012, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has promulgated the Circular No. 43/2012/TT-BNNPTNT amending and supplementing some articles of the Circular No. 47/2011/TT-BNNPTNT dated June 29th 2011 of MARD on guiding pilot implementation of agricultural insurance in livestock farming, aquaculture under the Decision No. 315/QĐ-TTg dated March 1st 2011 of the Prime Minister.
