US revised anti-dumping duties on Vietnam pangasius in preliminary POR 10

The Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its decision to set a preliminary adjustment on the duty imposed on certain frozen pangasius fillets imported from Vietnam in its the tenth antidumping duty administrative reviews (POR10) from August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013. Accordingly, despite lower duty rate, it still caused obstacles to Vietnamese pangasius exporters.

To Chau Jsc: Pangasius exports to EU made up 60 percent

Vietnam strengthening pangasius production and consumption effectively and sustainably

(vasep.com.vn) At a meeting in Can Tho city on July 10, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) introduced its plan on pangasius production and consumption in the Mekong Delta. Accordingly, by 2020, farmers can earn profit of VND1,000 – 1,500 per kilogram. Pangasius export turnover targets to hit VND1,200 – 1,800 billion by 2015 and VND1,600 – 2,400 billion by 2020.

(pangasius-vietnam.com) Through October 2013, Cadovimex II Seafood Import-Export and Processing Joint Stock Company (Cadovimex II) has fulfilled 60 percent of its annual plan on pangasius export. This year, Cadovimex II is trying to keep last year’s pangasius export volume. The total income is expected to be US$25 million, lower than that reported in 2012.
