and catfish fillets from 7 countries in the world, up 30 percent compared to that of 2012. In which, Vietnamese

was 11,011 MT, accounting for 94 percent. However, the fish imported from the Netherlands got the highest growth of 426 percent, reached 447 MT.

industry hit a record high of 1.3 million MT of fish production in 2012, 650-fold higher than that reported in 2000;

exports increased by 692 times to US$1.8 billion. Export markets for

products expanded rapidly to 136 countries and territories.
Pangasius
became the fastest-growing sector with a few areas for farming activities but high yield. Land for
pangasius
production was 6,000 hectares, equal to 1 percent of that for shrimp cultivation.
