(vasep.com.vn) According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, in the first quarter of 2012, pangasius exported to the EU priced averagely at US$2.68 per kilogram while raw fish was around VND24,000 per kilogram. At these levels, only processing companies with their own fish farms could make some profit.

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnamese pangasius exports in 2014 are predicted to decrease by 5 percent against that recorded in 2013, according to Truong Dinh Hoe, General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). The decline is due to lower supply of domestic raw material. Prices for exported products will be up slightly. In the coming year, the pangasius may see stable trend in exports to traditional markets, where it has still be choice of many consumers thanks to reasonable price.

(vasep.com.vn)Vietnamese pangasius exports totaled US$1.59 billion through November 2013, down 0.1 percent against the same period of 2012, according to Vietnam Customs. The decline was due to uncertain trend in the two main markets, the U.S. and the EU, which accounted for 44.2 percent in total export value.

(pangasius-vietnam.com) TG Fishery Holdings Corporation (TG Corp) has reported the highest result in pangasius export in 2013. The company strengthened its pangasius sales to some markets in Western Asia such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. Pangasius products were sent to Brazil and China too.

(pangasius-vietnam.com) Vietnamese pangasius exports to Brazil had a worth of US$106.04 million through November 2013, a year-on-year rise of 56 percent, according to Vietnam Customs. This was the highest growth among shipments to the 8 key markets for Vietnam’s pangasius products. In November 2013, Brazil consumed US$14.07 million of pangasius from Vietnam, up 35.8 percent month-over-month.

From the beginning of 2013 until the mid December 2013, pangasius exports to Germany valued at US$43.52 million, representing a year-on-year fall of 19.1 percent, the deepest dive out of EU’s 4 leading importers of Vietnam pangasius (Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the U.K)
