(vasep.com.vn) On 29 July 2014, Circular No. 22/2014 / TT-BNNPTNT regulating National Technical Standards on conditions for aquaculture was issued by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development "National Technical Regulation on conditions for aquaculture", including hygienic conditions and food safety, applied for brackish water shrimp farms. These regulations are applied on semi-intensive and intensive farms for black tiger shrimp (Penaeus Fabricus, 1798), intensive farms for white leg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei Boone, 1931) in Vietnam.

Vietnamese pangasius processors in the Mekong Delta are failing to meet exports orders due to a decline in production as farmers struggle to operate under high production costs and low prices.

(vasep.com.vn) Currently, export to Japan still represented a little part of Vietnam’s total pangasius shipments. The increasing import of pangasius into Japan over the recent years shows that the market is eyeing this kind of fish.

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam saw a strong increase in pangasius export to India in 2012, the trend continued in the first months of 2013. According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, through the middle of March, India imported US$2.7 million of pangasius products, a 45-percent rise over the same period last year.

(vasep.com.vn) According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, aquaculture production in September 2014 reached 372 thousand MT, up 15.9% year on year, bringing accumulated aquaculture production to 2,491 thousand MT, up 4.9% year on year.

(vasep.com.vn) On 24th September 2014, National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) required pangasius processors for exports to update provisions for labeling, water contents and glazing rate.

(vasep.com.vn) Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has approved to adopt a plan on pangagius farming and processing in Mekong Delta by 2020.

(vasep.com.vn) In 8 initial months of 2014, Seafood Import Export And Processing Joint Stock Company (Cadovimex II) earned US$ 30 million from pangasius exports. From now till the end of the year, Cadovimex II accelerates pangasius to get US$ 20 million, driving all year export turnover to reach US$ 50 million.
