(vasep.com.vn) In Canada, among white fish products, Vietnam's pangasius fillet is the most imported and consumed, followed by haddock and cod. Export price of frozen pangasius fillets from Vietnam increased year on year. According to Vietnam General Customs, yearly accumulated pangasius exports to Canada as of 15th September 2014 was US$ 28.9 million, up 4.5% year on year.

(vasep.com.vn) According to Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap, the province made a plan, in which farms for pangasius under VietGAP standards in 2015 would be 1,500 hectares with production of 370,000 MT and in 2020, the farming area would 2,000 hectares with production of 500,000 MT.

(vasep.com.vn) Pangasius exports to the EU markets continued to decline over the months, making the total exports to EU decreased by 7.8% (as of 15th September 2014) compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Spanish market had positive trend. With growth rate of 10% and the value of US$ 58 million (as of 15th September 2014), Spain is the leading consumption market for Vietnam pangasius among EU nations. Spain is accounted for 5% of Vietnam's total pangasius exports.

It might be receiving a battering elsewhere, but pangasius has a pretty strong safety net if it has lodged itself in the INR 75,000 crore (€10.6 billion/$13.8 billion) Indian food services industry, which is expected to reach INR 1,37,000 crore (€19.4 billion/$25.3 billion) by 2015.
