In the top 10 importing markets, exports to most of markets posted the positive growth compared to 2017 (except for the EU and Brazil).

Vinh Long: Boost linkage in production and consumption of pangasius

In particular, the locality expected to produce 40 million of pangasius seeds and 1,300 million fries. To achieve the above objectives, Vinh Long province has introduced many solutions to reorganize production in the direction of enhancing chain linkages and community management models such as GAP-certified manufacturing cooperatives.

Vietnam pangasius exports to UK to record positive growth

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2017, the UK was the only market with the positive growth in pangasius imports from Vietnam. By the end of the year, Vietnam’s pangasius exports to this market valued at US$45.7 million, accounting for 2.6% of the total export value, up 2.5% over 2016. With this value, the Netherlands and the UK stayed as the two largest pangasius exporters of Vietnam.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2017, Vietnam’s pangasius exports reached US$1.78 billion, up 4.3% over 2016. Of that, exports to the U.S and EU in December 2017 continued to decline by 26% and 24%, respectively and the figure in 2017 decreased by 11% and 22.3% respectively over the same period last year.
