Vietnam pangasius export to US break the record

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s pangasius export price to the US reached 4.5 USD/kg, the highest ever. Besides the scarcity of supply during two years of Covid-19, the temporary suspension of seafood imports from Russia by the US and Europe is creating a “golden opportunity” for Vietnamese pangasius products to increase market share in these two markets.

Vietnam pangasius exports to Mexico increase dramatically

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) For many Vietnam’s pangasius exporters, Mexico is the current “hottest” market within the CPTPP. As of the first half of May 2022, the total export value of Vietnam pangasius to Mexico reached 45.6 mil USD, an increase of 70% compared to the same period last year, which accounts for 4.3% of the total pangasius export value. This result shows that Mexico is a potential and attractive destination with an even higher export value than Brazil.

Fear of food crisis in the EU: an opportunity for Vietnamese pangasius

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first half of this year, Vietnamese pangasius exports to the EU market have revitalized after more than three dismal years. As of the first half of May 2022, export value of frozen Vietnamese pangasius to this market reached 76,8 million USD, up 95% compared to the same period last year. In that, the Netherlands is the most attractive market, accounting for 31,7% of the total value of Vietnamese pangasius exports to the EU.

The decrease in pangasius exports to Colombia is only temporary

Six more pangasius processing factories eligible to export to US

The Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS) under the United States Department of Agriculture has recognised six more Vietnamese pangasius processing factories that are eligible to export products to the US, raising the number of establishments to 19, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD).
