(seafood.vasep.com.vn) An Giang ranks third in the Mekong Delta in terms of brackish water shrimp farming area, yet its shrimp production is only in fifth place. In reality, the province’s shrimp sector is developing more slowly compared to many other localities in the region.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In July 2025, aquaculture production in An Giang Province remained stable and showed positive development. The scale of farming and aquatic product harvest continued to increase compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the province has been restructuring its capture fisheries sector by reducing the number of nearshore fishing vessels while increasing the fleet operating in offshore and distant waters. This shift aims to ensure more sustainable exploitation of aquatic resources and improve economic efficiency for fishermen.

According to the Đà Nẵng City Statistics Office, fisheries activities in July 2025 remained stable with fishing fleets effectively operating offshore and overall output rising slightly compared to the same period last year. The total fisheries output for the city in July 2025 was estimated at 14.3 thousand tons, up 0.8% (+116 tons) year-on-year. For the first seven months of 2025, total fisheries output was estimated at over 108 thousand tons, an increase of 2.6% (+2.7 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year; of which fish reached 77.5 thousand tons (+3.6%; +2.7 thousand tons), shrimp nearly 13 thousand tons (+1.1%; +139 tons) and other aquatic products 17.8 thousand tons (-0.4%; -71 tons).

(TSVN) – In the first seven months of 2025, Tay Ninh’s fisheries sector recorded fairly positive results. Although farming area slightly decreased compared to the same period last year, improved productivity led to an increase in output.

For the first seven months of 2025, the total export value hit $6.22 billion, reflecting a strong growth of 17.2%. However, these results lies a race against time by many export enterprises to expedite shipments to the United States before August 1, 2025 - the effective date when the new countervailing tariffs announced by the U.S. in early July 2025.

This initiative is part of a key strategy to boost GRDP growth to 8.5% in 2025 and lay the foundation for double-digit growth in the 2026–2030 period.
