(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam Clean Seafood Corporation has invested in a 280-hectare super-intensive shrimp farming zone in Tran De Commune, Can Tho City, generating export value of approximately VND 3 billion per hectare per year—around 50 times higher than traditional agricultural production.

Located along the My Thanh River, the farming area comprises nearly 240 shrimp ponds and is considered one of the largest high-tech shrimp production zones in the Mekong Delta. According to the company, investment costs for super-intensive shrimp farming range from VND 2–3 billion per hectare. However, the model can generate export value of about VND 3 billion per hectare annually, significantly exceeding that of conventional farming systems.
Although the profit margin is estimated at around 20%, the model is regarded as highly efficient and makes a substantial contribution to both local and national seafood export earnings. The high-tech farming process enables strict environmental control, productivity optimization, and reduced disease risks.
Notably, the company’s farming zone complies with stringent requirements on environmental management, traceability, and social responsibility, making it eligible to supply premium distribution channels in demanding markets such as the United States, Japan, and the European Union (EU). This provides a significant advantage for Vietnamese shrimp products in strengthening their position within the global seafood supply chain.
The super-intensive farming model also reflects a new development trend in Vietnam’s seafood industry, emphasizing high technology adoption, sustainable production, and compliance with increasingly stringent requirements from international export markets.
