Recovery in seafood exports

(vasep.com.vn) In August 2013, MARD statistics showed that exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products are estimated to reach US$2.39 billion, leading to total value of US$17.98 billion in the first eight months of the year, down 1.1 percent from that of 2012.

This period, the fishery sector showed sign of recovery with an estimated export revenue of over US$4 billion, increasing by 1.3 percent. Seafood sales abroad were worth US$591 million in August 2013. The U.S. remained the biggest importer of Vietnam, accounting for 20.9 percent of national export value.
