Jan-Feb seafood exports estimated to surpass US$1 billion for the first time
(vasep.com.vn) According to General Department of Statistics, in the first 2 months of 2014, Vietnam’s seafood exports are estimated to surpass US$1 billion for the first time, up 38.9 percent year on year.
Seafood exports in February are estimated to hit US$450 million, up 54 percent year on year. The figure in the first 2 months of the year is estimated to reach US$1,034 million.
Besides, imports of raw material into the country reported a sharp increase. In February, import value of seafood is estimated to be US$85 million. The two-month figure totaled US$185 million, up 115.5 percent against the same period of last year.
