However, this year, the company missed the chance to join in Vietfish due to some objective reasons. Mr. Pham Van Tuc, Chief Marketing Officer of the company expressed regret on it. During past years, VASEP has cared about and supported for members from the Central of Vietnam. Vietfish 2011 offer opportunities for companies to learn about each other as well as look for new customers from EU market.
So far, SHATICO has been exporting squid, shrimp and other seafood products to Japan. In 2011, seafood exports of the company to Japan is still good thank to the strong seafood demand and high export price. However, the company is confident that their products meet quality standards to penetrate into EU.
Currently, at the central coast, most of vessels can’t go off-shore fishing owing to high fuel price and other rising costs. Fishermen don’t dare to go off-shore fishing because they are afraid of losses due to small capture production.
So far this year, the company has been encountering the lack of raw materials for operation. Therefore, this year, SHATICO only tries to reach equivalent revenue on that of last year.
Diversifying products, expanding the market share are always the top priorities of the company and SHATICO is sure to join in Vietfish 2012, Mr Tuc said.
