NGOPREXCO kept facing short raw material supply

It was difficult for NGOPREXCO to access to raw material due to drop in domestic supply in recent years. The situation was tougher when the company had to deal with cruel competition from Chinese traders who were ready to pay high price for a large volume of raw fish without requirements of quality.

In first six months of 2011, NGOPREXCO produced 880 MT of marine fish of all varieties, of which cephalopods were 600 MT. It shipped abroad 776 MT of finished seafood products, valued US$4.12 million. Total revenue reached more than VND90 billion.

From June, global buyers have increased the import demand to prepare goods for end-of-year holidays. However, domestic raw material supply is still short; and it is expected to be more severe because fishermen could not go offshore fishing due to spike in all input costs.
