FDA’s Food facilities registration renewal not available on October 1

(vasep.com.vn) All facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food products intended for consumption in the U.S. are required to register and renew their registrations every 2 years with FDA under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The first biennial registration renewal period was scheduled from October 1 to December 31, 2012.

However, FDA has recently noted on its FSMA website that Biennial registration renewal for food facilities will not be available on October 1, 2012. FDA therefore will not be accepting food facility registration renewals at this time. Interested food facilities and companies can check FDA’s website at http://www.access.fda.gov at a later date or sign up for FSMA updates to be informed when it becomes available.
