From May 24, 2026, Vietnamese tuna exports to the US may be subject to an additional 12.5% tariff under Section 301, on top of existing preferential treatment and obligations. This new policy, introduced at a time when tuna exports to the US were showing signs of recovery, presents businesses with a difficult dilemma: maintaining orders but unable to further reduce profit margins.
