Vietnam seafood export to get slow growth in Quarter II/2012?

Vietnam seafood exports have achieved over US$ 1.3 billion, showing a 15 percent growth from that of the same period of 2011. For the first time, black tiger shrimp exports declined in 3 consecutive months while whiteleg shrimp exports showed its strengths; seafood exports to EU market reduced which made seafood enterprises shift to Asian market; production cost climbed up; capitals and raw material for seafood production and processing was insufficent; policies and procedures were unfavourable. It is an overview of Vietnam seafood exports in the quarter I/2012.

In the quarter I/2012, lack of capital, burden of costs and pressures of procedures and policies lessened competitive capacity of exported seafood products which brought about 30 percent of seafood enterprises to the edge of bankruptcy. The number of Vietnam seafood exporters has reduced to 500 ones in the quarter I/2012 from nearly 800 ones of the quarter I/2011.

How was the state of Vietnam seafood production and export in quarter I/2012? How will lack of raw materials, capitals and market variations affect to export growth in QII/2012. Will export value be equivalent or slightly higher compared with US$1.46 billion of quarter II/2011
